Where does Lush purchase OMC?

This ingredient is made in India.

What are the benefits of OMC on the skin?

Octylmethoxycinnamate (also known as octinoxate and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate) is an ‘organic’ UV filter or sunscreen agent. This clear liquid has the ability to absorb some of the sun's UVB rays and protect the skin against their burning effect. Invented in 1994, it has been extensively used in cosmetics.

We use OMC combined with two other organic filters called octocrylene and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane (BMBM), as they are stronger together. BMBM protects the skin from UVA rays which perfectly complements the benefits of OMC and gives our products a broader spectrum of protection.
