Golden Syrup

Golden syrup is a thick liquid with a unique sweet smell and taste that can be used as a sweetener for food. It was invented in England in 1883 by Abram Lyle’s sugar refinery. It is refined from sugarcane or sugar beets.

Golden syrup looks a lot like honey, that is why it is often used as a vegan alternative to it, in bakery and cosmetics.
