Fresh Carrot Extracted in Sunflower Oil
A biennial plant, the wild carrot shares its Latin name, Daucus carota sativa, with the commercially cultivated carrot but it is, in fact, its wild ancestor. The wild carrot is a white flowering plant also known as Queen Anne’s Lace, the cultivated carrot, on the other hand, is a root vegetable and is orange in colour as a result of the beta carotene.
The Helianthus annuus, also known as the sunflower, belongs to the Asteraceae family and is native to both North and South America. Sunflowers are heliotropes meaning they will always turn their heads to face the sun. Sunflower oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamin E which make it ideal for dry and delicate skin as the oil is easily absorbed.
