Many of us know about henna's ability to add semi-permanent color to hands, arms and hair ... but this powerful powdered leaf also adds mega shine when used as a hair treatment rather than a dye. Hennaed's blend of gloss-boosting red henna, hydrating extra virgin olive oil and smoothing guar gum mixes with hot water to become a low-waste way to revive both natural and color-treated hair. All you need is a mug and 20 minutes and you'll be left with a gorgeous, glistening mane.
How to use
Fill a mug with boiling water (leaving a little space at the top) and simply stir in your hot oil treatment until it has completely melted. Allow the treatment to cool for 5 minutes, or until cool enough to handle, before applying to dry hair. Sit back and relax for 20 minutes before shampooing out.

The red henna in this treatment amplifies colour and provides shine. It's accompanied by extra virgin olive oil for tensile strength to strands of hair, and anti-static guar gum for conditioning benefits.
The story of Lush and Henna Hair Dye
It’s 2001 and Lush co-founder and product inventor Helen Ambrosen is late leaving her lab at 29 High Street, Poole. As the light outside slowly dims, she’s mixing a blend of Iranian henna leaves (Lawsonia Inermis), herbs, and cocoa butter together for the very first time.
